Homelessness is complex, and there are several reasons someone might find themselves unsheltered, in an emergency shelter, provisionally accommodated (such as couch surfing) or at risk of becoming homeless. Lack of affordable housing, job loss, addiction, illness, poverty or the lack of coordinated resources are all factors among others that can contribute to becoming homeless.
