Join us in the fight against homelessness
Calgary Homeless
Foundation guides the fight against homelessness.
We work in alignment with governments and collaboratively with service providers and our community partners. We help translate complex system needs into coordinated, efficient ground-level action that maximizes the impact of every resource and creates lasting pathways out of homelessness.
Join us in creating a future where every individual has a safe place to call home…

Your support turns hope into action.
In a city of abundance, the reality of homelessness creates a stark contrast. Every day in Calgary, about 3,121 people face the uncertainty of not knowing where they’ll sleep tonight or tomorrow. Behind each of these individuals is a unique story: one of economic hardship, health challenges, family breakdown, or systems that failed them when they needed support the most.
This complex challenge requires more than isolated solutions. It calls for a coordinated response that understands both the big picture and the individual journeys. That’s where Calgary Homeless Foundation comes in, and where your support makes all the difference.

Calgary’s population has grown by over 45% since 2008, yet the number of people experiencing homelessness
has decreased by 13%.
Despite rapid population growth, rising global inflation, and tight rental and housing markets, the rate of homelessness in Calgary has remained flat since 2022. Just two out of every 1,000 Calgarians experience homelessness. This is a testament to the strength, coordination, and compassion of Calgary’s homelessness-serving system.
A testament to your support…
Your donations give us the flexibility to act quickly when urgent situations arise. Take the situation of a man who was at risk of losing his job and, ultimately, his family’s housing because his car battery died. He needed his car for work. No car. No job. No home. It’s surprising how often something as simple as a car battery can be the difference between staying housed or entering a shelter. Your support makes that kind of immediate, tangible help possible, with 100% of donations flowing directly to community.

Where your donation goes
Your generosity helps us respond to
urgent needs and bolster other
funding for the greatest impact.
Donor dollars are used for…

Prevention and
Diversion Programs
Keeping individuals and
families housed by providing
emergency financial aid,
rental support, and essential
items. A small expense, like a
$300 car battery or a $700
damage deposit, can help
families avoid homelessness.

Basic Needs and Outreach
Providing critical supplies like
medication and medical
supplies, socks, clothing,
hygiene items, snacks, and
water to those living without
shelter.

Extreme Weather Response
Supporting seasonal day spaces,
emergency transportation,
and essential winter gear
such as coats, gloves, and
boots to protect people from
the harsh Calgary winters.

…and more
Donations are also used to fund programs like the Siksika Outreach “Walking the Wolf Trail” program which is a cultural reconnection outreach unit that helps Siksika people experiencing homelessness navigate both on
and off-reserve services.

Building Sector
Capacity
Equipping over 257 Housing Strategists with the tools and
knowledge to help clients take the next step in their
journey out of homelessness.
