Data tells a story. Each data point represents a part of someone’s life—their home or lack of one, their family, education, health—and it can be the turning point for their future.
The Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) is the technological backbone of Calgary’s homeless-serving system, tying together programs and services into a coherent system of care. Thanks to this electronic database, we can improve programs and services and identify emerging trends, so no one falls through the gaps.
We also take part in the biennial Point-in-Time Count, which gives us a snapshot of who is experiencing homelessness in Calgary.
