Where can I donate clothing, furniture or household items?
We are grateful for your generosity and encourage you to donate goods to the following charities and agencies:
Furniture
Women In Need Society accepts used furniture and mattresses.
Clothing
Alpha House accepts clothing, and in particular, new socks, underwear and towels.
Furniture and Clothing
The Mustard Seed, the Calgary Drop-In Centre, and the Calgary Dream Centre are seeking both furniture and clothing as part of their lists of urgently needed items.
I would like to volunteer my time instead of giving a donation. Where can I go?
The volunteer needs of agencies and charities change regularly based on their activities and needs, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The easiest way to discover if your favourite charities or agencies are enlisting volunteers is to check their websites.
Not sure where to begin? Please visit Calgary Chamber of Voluntary Organizations for more information.
I see or know someone who is at risk of experiencing homelessness. What can I do to help?
Direct them to our Need Help? page for more information. Or you can visit What Else Can You Do? for a list of small, but meaningful ways to help.
