Calgary Homeless Foundation operates within a larger ecosystem, or network of organizations consisting of government run primary public systems of care, nonprofit, and faith-based agencies all working together to serve people in Calgary who are experiencing homelessness.
We work with other nonprofits within what we call Calgary’s Homeless-Serving System of Care, or CHSSC. This array of nonprofit agencies and community partners are all coordinated and focused on efforts to end homelessness in our city. This system is only a part of the greater ecosystem, and it delivers key programs to individuals experiencing homelessness.
As what’s commonly referred to as a Community Based Organization, or CBO, Calgary Homeless Foundation has a broader, bird’s-eye view of the entire ecosystem and has the ability – through data, research, collaboration, and coordination – to make sure that both dollars and resources are meeting people’s needs in the most effective, efficient, and responsible way.
